NOW HIRING IN HERSHEY, PA!

***This role is onsite Monday-Friday. Occassional Saturday shifts may be required***

A large healthcare organization is seeking Health Information Management Support Specialists to provide patient-facing administrative support, assist with Release of Information activities, and complete other HIM tasks as assigned.

Day to Day:

- Professionally answer incoming calls and assist patients and other requestors.

- Retrieve and return voicemail messages promptly.

- Verify patient identity and demographic information.

- Obtain verbal authorizations according to established procedures after training.

- Navigate electronic medical record systems to locate patient information.

- Assist with Release of Information requests and related workflows.

- Support radiology image-sharing requests

- Accurately document calls, authorizations, requests, and completed work.

- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.

- Complete additional medical records, HIM, and administrative tasks as assigned.

- Support HIM operations during a major electronic medical record transition.

Previous experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

• Health Information Management
• Release of Information
• Medical records
• Patient registration or patient access
• Medical office administration
• Healthcare customer service
• Hospital or physician-office front desk support

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hershey, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
