Job Summary
Langan is seeking a
Intern/Co-op – Traffic Engineering
to join its collaborative team in
New York, NY
. This individual will serve a key function in providing assistance with Traffic/Transportation project work.In this role, you will have the opportunity to get exposure to transportation impact studies, parking studies, traffic event management for large stadiums, transportation master planning, traffic signal design, and Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) plans & designs.
Job Responsibilities
Perform traffic observation;
Prepare technical reports, calculations, design plans and specifications for traffic/transportation projects such as transportation impact studies, highway occupancy permits, traffic signals, traffic and pedestrian circulation, and transportation master plans;
Observe construction; and
Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering / Transportation Planning;
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred;
Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO and the MUTCD is highly desirable;
Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or SoftDesk civil software are a plus;
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
Travel may be required based on business needs and project assignments. Travel requirements may vary by position and may change based on business needs.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
Pay Range
$25—$32 USD
