The Opportunity:

Scarlett Gasque is seeking a hands-on Product Development Manager with deep technical design expertise in women’s apparel. This role owns the technical development of our products from first prototype through production, including specs, tech packs, and fittings. The ideal candidate is an expert in fit and construction, with strong experience in both dresses and lingerie, and is ready to lead technical design for a growing luxury brand.

Responsibilities will include:

\n
• Create, own, and maintain complete and accurate tech packs, including flats, points of measure, construction details, bills of materials, and grading.
\n
• Spec garments and develop graded specifications across the full-size range, including bra band and cup sizing.
\n
• Lead fittings on live models and dress forms, evaluate fit and construction, and write clear, actionable fit comments and corrections.
\n
• Oversee that clear notes of all changes made during fittings and meetings are timely implemented and communicated internally and externally.
\n
• Provide technical expertise across bras (underwire, molded, unlined, and bralettes), dresses, slips, loungewear, and sleepwear.
\n
• Review proto, fit, pre-production, and top-of-production samples to ensure fit, quality, and consistency, and monitor development budget.
\n
• Partner with the design team to translate concepts into well-fitting, manufacturable, and commercially viable products.
\n
• Communicate directly with factories and suppliers on construction, materials, and trims, and resolve technical issues quickly.
\n
• Develop and maintain the brand’s block library, grade rules, fit standards, and size charts.
\n
• Manage the development calendar and track samples, approvals, and deadlines in our PLM system
\n
• Receive, check in, and organize all incoming samples
\n
• Supervise and mentor the technical design assistant and support team members.
\n
• Support costing goals by recommending construction and material efficiencies without compromising quality.
\n

Qualifications:

\n
• 3-5 years of technical design or product development experience in women’s apparel, including at least 1-2 years at the manager level.
\n
• Proficient in specing garments, building tech packs, and creating graded specifications.
\n
• Strong technical knowledge of dresses, intimates, as well as woven and knits.
\n
• Extensive experience leading fittings on live models, with a strong understanding of patternmaking and garment construction.
\n
• Experience working directly with overseas factories and suppliers.
\n
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Excel.
\n
• Experience with PLM systems (Centric preferred).
\n
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple styles and seasons at once.
\n
• Clear, confident communicator who can lead and develop junior team members.
\n
• Degree in technical design, fashion design, or a related field preferred.
\n

• Full-Time 4 – 5 days on-site at our NYC headquarters office
\n
• Fast-paced – able to switch gears from project to project and multitask across different platforms.
\n
• Self-starter – someone who is willing to take initiative and has a natural attention to detail.
\n
• Hands-on, reliable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
\n

Pay Transparency Notice:

Depending on your skills and experience, the target annual salary for this position can range from $90,000-$110,000 USD. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law.
