Job Title: RN Stroke/Neuro PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Active state or compact RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC experience required - Cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management - IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration - Peripheral and central line care - Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration) - Respiratory support: nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management - Neuro PCU experience Description: Position involves working in a telemetry PCU specializing in stroke and neurology patients. The unit is recognized as a primary stroke center. Ratios typically 1:5, with a staffing goal of 1:4. IV drips managed include Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, and more. Remote telemetry is used with tele sitting implemented for patient care tech coverage. Floating may be required within skillset. The unit supports a variety of interdisciplinary services. Daily census typically around 25 patients. There is a requirement to work one holiday during the contract period. Weekend shifts may be required as part of the scheduling.
